Welcome

Preserving the tradition of the largest meeting of young chemists in Portugal, the Portuguese Young Chemists Group (Grupo de Químicos Jovens Portugueses – GQJ) is pleased to invite you to the 9th Portuguese Young Chemists Meeting (PYCHEM). This edition will take place in Faro, at the Faculty of Sciences and Technology of the University of Algarve, from April 28th to 30th, 2025.

This event brings together chemists of different nationalities and recognized experts in different sub-areas, providing an excellent opportunity for sharing ideas and establishing new collaborations. In addition to the usual plenary sessions, oral communications, flash communications and poster, some new features are anticipated for this edition, intending to be a bridge between academic training and the professional future of young chemists.

Easily accessible (by plane, train, bus or car) and in a spring-like environment, Faro will warmly welcome this edition, providing a wide range of sensory and social experiences for all participants. From the stunning views over the Ria Formosa, protected to the south by several barrier islands and classified as one of the seven natural wonders of Portugal, to the historic part of the city, there are many reasons to be present at this event.

You are very welcome!
