Chemistry Between Generations
In addition to the speakers already confirmed, there will also be a round table on the theme of ‘Chemistry Between Generations’. This panel will feature four big names in chemistry:
Professor Javier García Martínez, former president of the International Union of Pure and Applied Chemistry (IUPAC) and an expert in the field of Materials Chemistry;
Professor Jorge Parola, current member of the board of the Portuguese Chemical Society (SPQ) and recognised for his contributions in the field of Molecular Photophysics;
Professor Lurdes Cristiano, former director of the Faculty of Science and Technology at the University of the Algarve and a reference in the area of Organic and Medicinal Chemistry;
Dr João Borges, former member of the International Younger Chemists Network (IYCN) and current researcher in the field of Supramolecular Chemistry and Biomaterials.
This dynamic session will explore the evolution of chemistry, reflecting on its current state and looking to its future. The aim is to inspire, educate and stimulate new ideas among different generations of chemists, in a rich and interactive debate.
